We would like to encourage you with these simple guidelines.
If you or anyone you know are having the following symptoms, it is highly likely that you may be having COVID infection: High fever, dry cough, throat irritation, headache, body ache and extreme weakness.
If so, please seek medical attention online or via telephone and get the required tests done. Our Medical team does Home Monitoring as per BMC Guidelines.
COVID RT PCR is the diagnostic test which can be done at your home itself by local labs like Jariwala, MM or Thyrocare as locally available. Home monitoring of your Oxygen levels, Pulse rate and Temperature four times a day is important to document your clinical condition. Self-testing Rapid kits are also available if you wish to test yourself at home.
If you think you have these signs and symptoms, is essential that you isolate yourself, maintain physical distancing, drink at least a glass of water every hour to stay well hydrated, and avoid any physical or mental over exertion.
Most cases we are seeing during this third wave are mild and self-limiting so far. Though much more contagious, this variant is milder than the earlier variants and appears to be playing its part in increasing herd immunity that should lead to an eventual decline in the number of COVID cases soon.
Why is Omicron Mild?
As per a study done in Hong Kong University, the new variant Omicron replicated 70 times faster( than Delta) in the upper respiratory tract than in the alveoli of Lung tissue paralyzing its capability to cause severe pneumonia.
Role Of Monoclonal Antibodies: Regeneron Ronapreve®️ is said to be ineffective against Omicron. But pending reports of genomic studies, it may be the only choice for high-risk cases associated with co-morbidity like DM HT COPD CKD CAD Hf, and elderly. The drug is given in two doses and requires medical supervision. It is useful only in patients who are spike protein antibody negative. So antibody testing might be a wise step before embarking on expensive therapy.
Good News:
However, if you are only having dry cough and sneezing, it is likely to be due to the pollution in the air.
If you have a cough with mucus, sneezing, running nose and mild feverish feeling, it is likely to be the common cold, or Influenza.
Regardless of whether you have any symptoms or not, we would encourage you to spend time in prayer and meditating on the Word of God. God loves you and is waiting to spend time with you.
These are times of great uncertainty. We are living in the flux.
The only person we all can really trust is the One who knows the end from the beginning, the Alpha and the Omega, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords.
